Scarecrow Festival

The Scarecrow Fesival in aid of Hougham Church held on Sunday 28th June 2009 made £445.10.
Best dressed Scarecrow award went to the Lumsden family for their cricketer and most original award went to Adam Chalklin for Father Christmas.
The Playgroup got a special mention and also Claire Charlesworth's pirate.  Abbey Scott from Grantham won the Art competition.

On Sunday Hougham PCC celebrated its second scarecrow festival. 19 Scarecrows enjoyed the summer sunshine in the churchyard while visitors enjoyed delicious home-made cakes and refreshing drinks in the church. The Rev. Stuart Hadley judged  the best-dressed scarecrow to be the cricketer, and the most original to be Father Christmas and his reindeer. The Dingle Dangle scarecrow, by Hougham, Marston and Barkston playgroup, received a special mention, as did the pirate. This highly successful event raised more than £400 which will go towards the upkeep of Hougham Church.
